Welcome to my favorite little town, Villa Park, the Garden Village .  I was born and raised in Villa park.  During the 1950's and 60's, we were the home of Ovaltine.  As a child, I remember the smell of chocolate wafting thru the air in Villa Park...maybe that's why I look the way I do!  At any rate, the Ovaltine factory is now an upscale loft style apartment building.  The Illinois Prairie Path runs right thru the middle of our town.  It used to be an old rail way, so right on the corner of Villa and Park Blvd. you can see the old railway station.  It is one of many   Historic Places you

CA & E Station circa 1940's

can find in town.  Go a little farther west to the corner of Park and Ardmore to see our Gazebo.  During the summer they have free concerts at the gazebo.  It's fun bring a picnic and lawn chairs.  You'll see lots of familiar faces and it's a nice way to enjoy a summer's night.  Also
during the summer and autumn months Villa Park features a French Market on Sunday mornings along the Prairie Path.  You can purchase locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as some crafts and fresh flowers.  In the early summer I always buy my annuals and perennials there.  They have great prices and it's a good place to pick up your hanging baskets and pots!

Villa Park has lots of fun places to go on bike ride.  Check out the Free Bike Route Maps, and find out how you can go from the Prairie path I have been talking about to another path that runs from Villa Ave. west behind the Jewel.

Villa Park is known as the Garden Village.  I belong to the Women's garden club, but there is also a Mens Garden Club.  We both need more members, so call me if your interested!  Villa Park has 2 pools.  Jefferson and Lufkin.  Both pools are heated and they offer a nice get-away from the heat in the summer!  There is a recreation building near the Jefferson Pool on Vermont and another building on Wildwood know at "Lions Field".

Sugar Creek Golf Course is located on Van Buren Street.  It is a nine hole golf course.  Look for a tree planted there in honor of my Dad!  It has a lovely clubhouse that can be rented out for parties.  Call them at (630) 834-3325 if you need a nice place for your next event.

Villa Park's greatest treasure is it's people!
If you ever need a helping hand, Villa Park residents are there to pitch in and help.
Volunteers  are the backbone of our community and these are the forces that make everything work! Villa Park is a wonderful mix of blue collar and white collar workers.  It's not snobby or stuck up in any way.  It's just a nice place to live.  Sort of like Maberry, sort of simple, and just a nice place to live.
